How to Volunteer...

Yes, we come to you for help. WE NEED YOU! 

The South Middleton Township Fire Company invites you to consider becoming a member of the Company, volunteering your time, energy and heart to assist others when emergency situations arise and/or to assist in our fundraising/administrative activities.

Our members volunteer to serve in many ways, with many different talents and interests. All do so for the satisfaction of serving those in their time of need. Not all members serve as an actual firefighter.

What can you do? Consider these possibilities:

  • Driver-only for fire apparatus.
  • Firefighter for fire suppression and attack.
  • Firefighter for support operations. (auto accidents, cleanup operations, logistical support)
  • Clerical and financial office work, word processing, billing, or accounting.
  • Public relations and community events. Help make our presence known.
  • Care and maintenance of building and landscaping.
  • Care of fire apparatus. Wash, polish and service.
  • Supply and equipment management
  • Fund raising
  • Legal advice and service
  • Accounting/auditing advice and service.
  • Member recruitment
  • Training citizens in fire prevention and other subjects
  • Assist with updating maps, street and residence direction and references.

    • You see, many talents, skills and interests are needed to enable your Fire Company to serve you and the other residents and visitors of South Middleton Township.

    You will meet some fine people, learn some skills with life long value, and above all else, enjoy the satisfaction of assuring that when others need help in their time of need, the South Middleton Township Fire Company will be there for them.
